Phase 1 involves deep dive analysis, planning and revisions in constant dialogue with you and your stakeholders. FTA will review a representative sample of past online courses and suggest full scale revisions based on best practices for creating meaningful learning experiences online. This research phase will also influence decisions about supporting faculty and staff course development, working within LMS parameters, and reaching mobile navigation and ADA compliance goals.
In Phase 2 FTA will design & develop the course template that will provide a framework and reusable foundation for the necessary elements of all courses. The template is designed for flexibility and will include asynchronous components and be designed to integrate well with synchronous components such as web conferencing. The course template will also accommodate the integration of various tools, add-ins, mash-ups and custom integration needs.
The final result will be three production ready exemplar courses with the following components: syllabus, course outline, course goals, assessments, measurable objectives, module or unit content, supplemental materials, physical or virtual labs, assignment instructions, and assessments to measure unit objectives.
In Phase 3 Full Tilt Ahead will train key personnel to use the new course environments and establish the standards and criteria that courses developed in the future should attain. The course evaluation rubric, along with the course template, will provide consistency in order to make the learning environments predictable, and therefore more manageable for faculty, students and administration.
FTA will also provide clear and simple How-to documentation to Instructional Designers. Step-by-step instructions on how to implement the template are presented in an interactive PDF and delivered as a “Train the Trainer” model.
